We champion accountability and participatory development, ensuring tht every voice is heard and every individual has the oppurtunity to thrive.

Poverty Alleviation and Livelihood

Transforming livelihoods through community-driven solutions that break the cycle of poverty. Through action Aids supported partnership and local rights program, and strategic partnerships for agroecology and climate justice project, we are empowering women leaders, establishing village savings and and loan schemes across 7 communities in 3 local governments, and training smallholder farmers in sustainable agroecology practices. These integrated approaches build economic resilience, strengthen local leadership and create pathways out of poverty for entire communities In Jigawa State

Girl-Led Research nd Action

Our  Girl-Led Research and Action initiative build girl’s capacity to investigate their own challenges, lead advocacy campaigns, and demand systemic change at community, state and national levels. By connecting local girl researchers with global peer networks, we are fostering a movement where girl’s voices and insights directly influence education policy, gender responsiveness budgeting and community awareness.

In Jigawa state, girls are leading the fight for educational equity, advocating for gender-sensitive budget allocation and amplifying awareness of critical issues affecting their peers, transforming from beneficiaries to changemakers who shape their won futures.

Climate Action and Resilience

Through our Action for Climate Efficient and Resilient Communities (ACERC) project with Partnership for Development Action (PADAC) Foundation, we’re mobilizing communities to combat climate change by transforming harmful environmental practices and social norms. Our comprehensive approach combines community education with direct environmental action, distributing and planting over 1,000 trees across 24 communities and 10 schools in 3 LGAs.
This grassroots movement is creating lasting change by empowering communities with climate knowledge while simultaneously restoring degraded landscapes, demonstrating that local action can drive powerful environmental transformation.

Health

Community Led Monitoring project is transforming malaria service delivery through systematic advocacy and accountability mechanisms that directly improve healthcare quality for the most vulnerable populations. We’ve engaged over 500 policymakers in targeted advocacy efforts, securing commitments from key decision-makers including ward heads, district heads, and health facility leaders to address critical service gaps which have led to the renovation of the Gayawa Health Post in Gagarawa LGA, Jigawa state.

Our integrated approach includes conducting 24 environmental sanitation exercises across 12 communities in Gagarawa and Dutse LGAs to eliminate malaria breeding sites, while ensuring over 500 pregnant women from 30+ communities received life-saving IPT treatments within just 4 months through strategic partnerships with local businesses and health facilities, demonstrating our proven ability to drive systemic change that saves lives and strengthens healthcare systems.

GBV Response and Prevention

The Response against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (RISE UP) project is breaking the silence and transforming how communities respond to GBV by creating comprehensive support systems that protect survivors and deliver justice. Through trained community volunteers who identify cases and facilitate reporting, we’ve reached over 1,800 community members with life-saving awareness and connected more than 180 survivors to multiple protection services. Our impact is measurable—sexual violence reporting has increased by 15% as communities witness real accountability, while impunity has decreased by 20%, demonstrating that survivors are finding their voices and perpetrators are facing consequences in a system that increasingly prioritizes justice and protection over silence. The project was supported by ActionAid Nigeria and Global Affairs Canada in 2021, and now it is sustained in communities through the community chanpions.

Climate Action and Resilience

The Strategic Partnerships on Agroecology and Climate Justice project supported by ActionAid Nigeria is transforming agriculture by training 27,874 smallholder women and young farmers, including persons with disabilities, across 12 LGAs in Jigawa State in sustainable agroecology practices—soil and water conservation, organic fertilizer production, and agroforestry; that build climate resilience while boosting productivity. Beyond technical skills, we’re breaking systemic barriers by strengthening women farmers’ access to and control over land, unlocking their potential to increase agricultural output and achieve lasting food security for their families and communities. What we care for

Elevating the voice of girls through research and advocacy

The Girl-Led Research and Action is strengthening girl’s leadership, advocacy and communication skills, positioning them as credible change agents in Jigawa State while demonstrating the growing public demand for girl’s empowerment initiatives.

A new future for women in communities

Women have strengthened their livelihoods by generating and accessing self-funded cash grants through their weekly VSLA contributions, creating sustainable income streams that break the cycle of economic dependency and fuel entrepreneurial growth across their communities.

Smallholder women farmers adopting agroecology practices thereby strengthening the earth and protecting the environment

Women farmers have revolutionized their agricultural practices, transforming household waste into organic fertilizers and neem seeds into natural pesticides, dramatically reducing input costs while tripling farm yields and creating multiple income streams. This shift to nature-based solutions is delivering a triple win: restoring soil health and environmental sustainability, boosting nutrition through chemical-free produce, and multiplying household incomes as farmers break free from expensive external inputs to become self-sufficient agricultural entrepreneurs who are regenerating their land while feeding their communities.
